Education Facilities Projects Manager – Cornwall

Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Project Manager to lead delivery of projects across our Cornwall Schools contract, supporting maintenance, improvements and refurbishments while minimizing disruption to learning environments.

You will manage multiple school-site projects, develop plans and budgets, and coordinate internal teams and subcontractors. A strong focus on health & safety, quality and stakeholder communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects within facilities management, construction, engineering or building maintenance environments.
• Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, risk management and stakeholder coordination.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
• PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP or equivalent project management qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects across school sites from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements, whilst monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Build strong relationships with school leadership teams, local authority representatives, client stakeholders and internal teams, acting as the primary point of contact throughout project lifecycles.
• Coordinate internal engineering teams and specialist subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Mitie standards, safeguarding requirements and statutory regulations.
• Conduct inspections, quality audits, risk assessments and project handovers while promoting a strong health and safety culture and driving continuous improvement.
