Job Title: EDM Operator (Permanent Nights)

Location: Devizes

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: From £35-40k (depending on experience) + bonuses

The Opportunity

We're working with a leading manufacturer in the precision engineering sector, currently seeking an experienced and motivated EDM Operator to join their high‑performing production team.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in precision manufacturing, looking to join a company that offers excellent training, stability, and long‑term career progression. The successful applicant will work primarily in the EDM department, with opportunities to support other departments following additional training.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and EDM machinery to produce high‑precision products in small batch quantities.
• Perform in‑process inspections using CMMs, optical systems, and hand tools, recording accurate measurements and data.
• Load and edit CNC programs as per work instructions.
• Maintain documentation including work orders and quality records via ERP systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and report any faults.
• Adhere to company safety policies, 5S standards, and wear appropriate PPE.

Working Hours

Sunday 11pm – 6am, Monday to Thursday 10pm – 6am

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of CNC/EDM machinery, tools, and workshop safety procedures.
• Methodical, detail‑focused, and able to work under pressure.
• Computer literate with a basic understanding of ERP systems.
• Flexible, proactive, and a strong communicator.
