Job summary

Discover Recruitment is seeking an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician to support a busy engineering team in a high-hazard industrial manufacturing environment. The role focuses on preventative and reactive maintenance ensuring safe, reliable operation of plant equipment.

You will perform fault-finding on electrical systems, PLC/DCS control, and instrumentation, with strong collaboration across a multi-disciplinary team and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline.
Experience in a regulated industrial manufacturing environment.
Hazardous areas (ATEX/DSEAR) desirable.

Responsibilities

Carry out electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance and installation safely and to a high standard.
Fault-finding on PLC/DCS control systems and instrumentation.
Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and reliability-based maintenance.
Support permit-to-work, isolation, risk assessment, and safe system of work processes.
Assist with plant modifications, upgrades, and new equipment installations.
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Contribute to continuous improvement, reliability, and operational excellence.
Support training and mentoring of colleagues.
