Job summary

Randstad CPE seeks an experienced EC&I Technician to join the engineering team in Exeter. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation and control systems, ensuring safety and reliability of plant equipment.

You will cover calibration, CMMS logging, and collaborate with operations to meet KPIs while supporting development through on-call duties and cross-functional work.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with a relevant technical qualification.
• Experience in control & instrumentation engineering within process/industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience with DCS/SCADA systems.
• Experience using CMMS for asset maintenance logging.
• Strong fault-finding and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnose faults and implement long-term, effective solutions.
• Manage calibration programs and maintain calibration records.
• Maintain asset and maintenance logs in CMMS.
• Follow Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
• Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors on site.
• Collaborate with operations to meet KPIs and improve plant reliability.
• Participate in a 1-in-4 callout rota for out-of-hours breakdowns.
