ICL Teesdock in Tees Valley is seeking a time-served EC&I Technician to maintain and improve critical plant performance on large-scale, PLC-controlled equipment in a busy port environment.

You will inspect, fault-find, and repair ship loading systems, conveyors and switchgear while applying RCA/MTBF methods to enhance reliability and safety. A strong electrical background and experience in heavy industry are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Time-served EC&I Technician with a strong electrical background.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, process, or heavy engineering environments.
• Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and automated systems.
• Desirable: Experience in heavy industry, ports, mining, or bulk handling.
• Knowledge of SCADA / DCS systems.
• IOSH or safety qualification

Aufgaben

• Carry out detailed statutory inspections and produce compliant reports.
• Conduct, verify and document complex electrical isolations within a permit-to-work system.
• Inspect, fault-find, maintain and repair ship loading systems, conveyors, switchgear.
• Utilise root cause analysis (RCA) and mean time between failure (MTBF) to investigate faults and improve reliability.
• Plan and prioritise maintenance activities based on shift reports and plant condition.
• Work closely with operations to minimise downtime and provide feedback on equipment condition.
• Manage parts, consumables and tooling responsibly.
