Assystem is a leading nuclear engineering firm delivering complex infrastructure projects across the lifecycle. The role focuses on Electrical Systems design for SMR nuclear power plants, from architecture to component specification and verification, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams in a highly regulated UK environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree level qualification in electrical engineering or a related subject.
• Experienced in working in a highly regulated industry.
• Ability to travel Assystem offices and customer sites within UK.
• BPSS and SC required.

Responsibilities

• Review high level electrical requirements including their testability.
• Translate high level requirements into a validated design for the electrical system/component.
• Capture design constraints and quality attributes that apply to the system/component.
• Capture requirements/constraints in line with project processes (interfaces and requirements).
• Design and implement electrical designs to meet design inputs.
• Work with Verification team to define verification activities.
• Analyze electrical designs for functional behaviour; develop tests to demonstrate compliance.
• Identify and mitigate risks and support long-term team goals.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines and training as required.
• Represent electrical engineering in meetings and IPTs; support cross-team collaboration.
• Ensure quality throughout the SMR project lifecycle via technical reviews.
