Project Manager - Earthworks Project

Location: Norwich

Day Rate: £300-£400 per day (DOE)

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver a major earthworks and ground engineering project in the Norwich area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, has strong site management capability, and can confidently steer complex civil packages from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day management of earthworks operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Maintain strict compliance with CDM regulations, H&S protocols, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Produce and manage project documentation including RAMS, progress reports, and programme updates.
  • Manage cost control, schedule tracking, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead site meetings and provide clear communication across all project stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven experience managing earthworks or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong understanding of excavation, cut & fill, ground stabilisation, haul routes, and associated temporary works.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple work fronts effectively.
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), First Aid desirable.
  • Strong reporting and programme management capabilities.
