Job summary

St George's Nursery in Leicester is seeking an experienced early years professional to lead a nursery room and develop leadership skills while making a real difference in children's learning and development.

You'll work closely with the management team to create a positive, engaging environment where children feel secure, supported and excited to learn every day.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of experience in an early years setting.
• Good knowledge of EYFS and child development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day organisation of your nursery room.
• Support and motivate a small team of early years practitioners.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
• Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safeguarding, welfare and EYFS requirements are met.

At St George's Nursery, we're looking for an experienced early years professional to take the lead within one of our nursery rooms. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to build their leadership skills while continuing to make a real difference to children's learning and development.

You'll work closely with the management team to create a positive, engaging environment where children feel secure, supported and excited to learn every day.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the day-to-day organisation of your nursery room.
• Supporting and motivating a small team of early years practitioners.
• Building positive relationships with children and families.
• Planning and delivering high-quality learning experiences.
• Monitoring children's progress and maintaining accurate records.
• Ensuring safeguarding, welfare and EYFS requirements are met.
• Supporting new team members and sharing best practice.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years' experience working in an early years setting.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A positive approach to teamwork and supporting others.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring colleagues is beneficial but not essential.
