A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Oldbury is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teacher to join their team part-time from October until the end of the academic year. This role will involve working across the school's Nursery and Reception classes, supporting children with their learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality teaching tailored to the individual needs and developmental stages of children within the Early Years setting.
The classroom is well supported, with Teaching Assistants and dedicated support available, allowing the successful candidate to focus on delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning. Previous experience working within an Early Years setting is essential, and the school is looking for a confident, patient and experienced teacher who understands how to support and engage young children across Nursery and Reception.
This is a part-time teaching role working Wednesday-Friday, with no planning responsibilities required.
Delivering engaging, creative and age-appropriate learning experiences across the Nursery and Reception classes.
Supporting children across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Adapting the curriculum, resources and teaching approaches to meet individual children's needs and developmental stages.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other Early Years staff within the setting.
Developing positive and trusting relationships with children and creating a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Supporting children's academic, social, emotional and personal development.
Providing opportunities for both adult-led and child-initiated learning.
Monitoring, assessing and recording children's progress and adapting teaching accordingly.
Working collaboratively with Early Years staff, class teachers and school leaders.
Managing behaviour effectively using appropriate Early Years strategies.
Promoting independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
Maintaining high expectations while recognising and responding to individual children's needs and barriers to learning.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Previous experience teaching within an Early Years setting is essential.
Experience working within a Nursery and/or Reception classroom.
A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
The ability to deliver engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and consistent.
Confidence working alongside Teaching Assistants and other Early Years staff.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A nurturing, patient and resilient approach to teaching.
The ability to build positive relationships with young children.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
A minimum of two excellent references.
Competitive Salary – £33,930 - £46,800 per annum (pro rata, based on previous experience).
Holiday Pay – PAYE candidates accrue 12.07% of their day rate.
