Job summary

Bright Horizons Dandelions Day Nursery and Preschool in Andover is seeking an Early Years Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for children and staff. You will manage daily cleaning, nursery bathrooms, laundry, and assist with mealtimes and general duties as required.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in a domestic or commercial setting.
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher required on day 1.
• COSHH and health and safety knowledge essential.
• Excellent communication with staff, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Keep the nursery clean and safe for children and staff.
• Maintain hygiene of bathrooms and nappy changing areas.
• Carry out daily laundry and assist with mealtime support and equipment cleaning.

The Role

As an Early Years Housekeeper, you will keep the nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, colleagues, and families. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children’s bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day, carry out daily laundry as required, and be prepared to help with additional nursery tasks where required, such as supporting over mealtimes and cleaning of equipment.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience of cleaning within a domestic or commercial property
• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements
• Great communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents
