Responsibilities

• Assist under the leadership of the teacher to promote the efficient running of the class.
• Establish a supportive relationship with children and parents.
• Assist children learning indoors and outdoors through clarifying instruction and ensuring use of equipment.
• Support development in areas such as physical skills, language, behaviour.
• Contribute to planning, preparation and display of children’s work.
• Observe, record and evaluate children’s progress as directed by the teacher.
• Provide supervision and basic care including assisting with toileting and personal hygiene.
• Report to the designated Child Protection Officer any signs indicating a child needs attention.
