Job summary

Thrive Education is hiring an enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to support nurseries, preschools and Early Years settings across the Forest of Dean. You’ll join a friendly team and gain experience in diverse settings, with flexible Monday–Friday opportunities.

No formal childcare qualification is required, and we’ll work around your availability, offering day-to-day, short-term and longer-term placements as needed. DBS check discussions at registration.

Qualifications

• No formal childcare qualification required.
• Experience in nurseries/preschools welcome.
• Willing to complete safeguarding and compliance checks.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support children through play and activities.
• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
• Support children's social and emotional development.
• Assist with daily nursery routines.
• Work alongside qualified Early Years Practitioners.
• Build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Provide additional support wherever the setting needs you.

Love working with children but don't have a formal childcare qualification? You don't necessarily need one.

Thrive Education is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Early Years Assistants to support nurseries, preschools and Early Years settings across the Forest of Dean. We're interested in people who have previous experience working with children and want to build on that experience within Early Years. Your experience could come from a nursery or preschool, but we'd also love to hear from people with backgrounds in schools, SEN support, children's clubs, after-school clubs, holiday clubs, sports coaching or other childcare environments. Whether you're looking for 1–2 days a week, regular full-time work or something longer-term, we'll work around your availability.

What are you looking for:

You don't need to hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification. We're looking for people who:

• Have previous experience working with or supporting children
• Genuinely enjoy working with young children
• Are caring, patient and enthusiastic
• Are reliable and adaptable
• Are comfortable joining different teams and settings
• Are willing to complete the necessary safeguarding and compliance checks
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, but we can discuss this with you during registration.
