Job summary

Little Thurrock Primary School is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils who speak English as an additional language (EAL). The role involves assisting with teaching, supporting student progress and contributing to a caring, inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will work with staff to plan for individual needs, maintain records and help ensure high standards of education and safeguarding across the school community.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (minimum grade 4-9).
• Understanding of subjects you support, positive attitude and consistent application of school rules.
• Resilience and excellent de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils who speak English as an additional language (EAL).
• Assist with class planning and adapt it to the needs of the child where applicable.
• Build strong professional relationships with children and their families.
• Maintain good record keeping (progress and medical where required).
