Flexible and family friendly working arrangements including hybrid working (3 days on site and 2 from home).

I’m partnering with a large and prestigious not-for-profit organisation based in Lancashire as they look to appoint an experienced HR Advisor for an 18-month fixed term contract.

Reporting into an HR Business Partner and working closely with the Head of HR, you will support the HR team and various stakeholders with a wide range of generalist HR duties, including Employee Relations case work, HR MI, and reviewing HR policies and procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to HR strategy and organisational change for a large and varied workforce and to assist in complex ER casework.

Key Responsibilities for the HR Advisor:

  1. Assist in the delivery of an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service to a wide range of departments and stakeholders.
  2. Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers.
  3. Provide advice and support (under the direction of the HR Business Partner) on departmental restructurings, including undertaking formal consultation with staff and trade unions and providing advice on redeployment and redundancy issues.
  4. Assist the HR Business Partner with the management of complex employee relations cases providing independent HR advice and support, including disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, and sickness and absence cases.
  5. Maintain HR systems and processes such as recruitment, fixed-term contracts, redundancy, and case management, providing advice as required.
  6. Review and develop HR policies and procedures within the legal framework of employment legislation.
  7. Prepare reports, analyze statistical information on a range of HR metrics/data in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Proactively support and identify areas for improvement relating to HR systems and policy.

Key Requirements for the HR Advisor:

  1. Strong HR background, working at a similar HR Advisor level.
  2. Wide range of generalist HR experience and knowledge including managing employee relations casework, employment legislation, HR policies and procedures, and stakeholder management.
  3. Ideally CIPD level 5 qualified, though not essential.
  4. Exposure to organizational change, restructures, redundancies, and liaising with Trade Unions is highly advantageous, as well as experience in not-for-profit or public sector organisations, though not essential.
  5. Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Confident, curious, and proactive problem-solver.
  7. Car driver and owner preferred.
