Portfolio is proud to represent our client, a market-leading professional services consultancy, in their search for a Consultant to conduct HR meetings on behalf of their clients. You will have experience in conducting various meetings such as investigations, disciplinaries, decision-making, and issuing outcomes including warnings and dismissals. A HR / CIPD Degree or strong experience in people management is required. Your role will be to support thousands of business owners, ensuring compliance, legality, and fair outcomes for both employer and employee.

Job Purpose

To deliver an expert HR service virtually via platforms such as Microsoft Teams to support clients in handling formal meetings with their employees. This includes conducting and advising on consultancy, capability, disciplinary, grievance, and appeal issues, as well as investigations and settlement negotiations.

Job Overview

We seek personable and confident HR professionals or employment lawyers with good technical skills who can respond to short-notice assignments and produce thoughtful, legally compliant, and well-written reports. The ability to act impartially, identify and quantify risks, and communicate effectively with clients is crucial.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  1. Attend client meetings as scheduled, conduct or support clients in conducting investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and appeal hearings.
  2. Undertake mediation, conciliation, and other employment relations services as requested.
  3. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding employment issues, maintaining impartiality.
  4. Deliver high-quality, prompt reports within specified timeframes, adhering to administrative procedures.
  5. Achieve or exceed hearing targets set by the Face2Face Management team.
  6. Contribute to team objectives, including securing repeat business.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree-level education in HR, law, or related discipline, or substantial professional experience.
  • Background in HR management, consultancy, or employment law.
  • Professional presentation, service-oriented, personable; able to build rapport with stressed or upset individuals.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach.
