Job summary

A leading company in energy services is seeking an HR Advisor in Manchester for a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will provide generalist HR advice, support line managers, and ensure compliance with employment law. Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, HR Advisor, or similar role required.
  • Self-starting and independent professional with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As part of our HR Team, you will report directly to the HR Business Partner. You will be an internal expert, providing generalist HR advice and practical support to managers on all people management and employment law issues whilst ensuring these processes are conducted in accordance with our Equans Fundamentals.

EQUANS are looking for a HR Advisorto join our team in Manchester. This is a full time 6 month fixed term contract working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary of up to £38k DOE, a company car and benefits package.

General Overview

As part of our HR Team, you will report directly to the HR Business Partner. You will be an internal expert, providing generalist HR advice and practical support to managers on all people management and employment law issues whilst ensuring these processes are conducted in accordance with our Equans Fundamentals.

Key Accountabilities

On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):

  • Supporting line managers in all people processes to ensure best practice and employee engagement is enhanced.
  • Coaching line managers to build capability and promote ownership for managing their people and embedding a leadership framework.
  • Advising and supporting on Employee Relations cases including attendance at hearings as appropriate.
  • Supporting our reporting process ensuring that data is collated, accurate and provided on time.
  • Working alongside our resourcing team to support with all recruitment related activities
  • Ensuring absence management is monitored in detail, agreeing plans to improve with line managers and supporting delivery.
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation's objectives
  • Implementing new HR initiatives and working on various HR projects.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relations with our recognised trade union.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you should be a self-starting and independent professional with strong collaboration skills, be skilled in gaining buy-in and support from stakeholders at all levels and be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Whilst a CIPD L5 qualification would be advantageous it is not essential. Proven experience as an HR Assistant, HR Advisor or similar role is required.
