We're looking for a

Senior Claims Underwriter, Casualty Lines

Based in our London office, reporting to the Head of Casualty Claims, you will handle exposure primarily in classes such as Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber, with potential support for Medical Malpractice, Excess Casualty, Environmental and Energy, Political Risk, and M&A claims as needed.

Hamilton Global Specialty operates primarily through a Lloyd's Syndicate and Dublin, with a managing general agency in the US.

What you will do

1. Assist with claims handling within the Casualty Claims division by analyzing coverage and quantum for claims within your authority, referring to the Head of Casualty Claims for larger quantum cases.
2. Review bordereau presentations for accuracy and processing.
3. Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Claims team members, Underwriters, and management.
4. Develop relationships with external stakeholders like brokers, adjusters, lawyers, and TPAs.
5. Ensure timely reserving and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, processes, and procedures.
• Attend external client and broker meetings as required.
• Participate in networking events as appropriate.
• Assist with operational tasks as needed.

What you require for the role

• Proven experience in or knowledge of the London insurance market, including underwriting, claims, or broking.
• Understanding of insurance policies, preferably with experience in FI, PI, or Cyber claims handling.
• Knowledge of Lloyd's Claims schemes.
• Familiarity with ECF is preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
