What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Underwriter in Directors’ & Officers’ insurance, you will be recognized as a market leader by peers, brokers, and clients. Your responsibilities include driving profitable growth, providing excellent underwriting service, and mentoring junior team members.

You will manage an allocated client portfolio, handling new business, renewals, and endorsements, while aligning with strategic goals. Collaboration with Claims, Actuarial, and Reinsurance teams to develop innovative risk solutions is essential.

Key responsibilities

1. Review submissions, including applications, policies, inspection reports, loss runs, and financials, to assess risk.
2. Calculate risk premiums considering sector-specific risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and operational expenses to ensure profitability.
3. Provide advice and service to clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction.
4. Manage relationships to identify cross-selling opportunities and retain accounts.
5. Review loss control reports and manage policy endorsements for necessary changes.
6. Support business planning, monitor financial exposure, and ensure premium income remains within limits.
7. Maintain awareness of claims and support claim settlement processes.

You will report to the Underwriting Manager - D&O, UK & Lloyd’s.
