Role Summary

Rokstone Underwriting is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Casualty Underwriter to join our UK & Ireland team. This role will focus on underwriting and developing a portfolio of third-party liability risks including Employers’, Public, and Products Liability, with additional exposure to Professional Indemnity and other casualty lines.

You will work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to deliver technical underwriting decisions, develop business opportunities, and support profitable growth across the UK & Ireland casualty portfolio.

Role Accountabilities

• Underwrite new and renewal UK & Ireland casualty risks within agreed authority limits and underwriting guidelines.
• Evaluate risk exposures and provide tailored insurance solutions across a variety of casualty products.
• Maintain and grow broker relationships through regular engagement and market presence.
• Ensure underwriting decisions are compliant with internal standards and external regulations.
• Assist in developing underwriting strategy, including pricing models, appetite, and product wording.
• Monitor portfolio performance, assist with analysis, and contribute to reporting.
• Keep an eye on the market developments, trends, and competitor activity in the UK & Ireland casualty space.
• Collaborate with teams, including claims, compliance, actuarial, and operations, to maintain underwriting discipline and support cross-functional initiatives.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in UK casualty lines, ideally within an MGA or Lloyd’s environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, and Products Liability.
• Exposure to other third-party lines such as Professional Indemnity or D&O is advantageous.
• Commercial mindset and ability to balance technical analysis with broker and client needs.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Working knowledge of the UK regulatory environment (FCA/PRA).
• Progress toward or completion of ACII or equivalent preferred.
