What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Construction Team as a Senior Site Manager reporting into the Contracts Manager.

The purpose of the role is to manage the construction site according to company guidelines and goals, ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines, and construction and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a construction site to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards.
  2. Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines.
  3. Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty providers, local authorities, and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme.
  4. Maintain accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists.
  5. Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines.
  6. Direct and supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget.
  7. Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example, prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress.
  8. Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimize incidents and accidents.
  9. This role will involve travel across various sites in the region as well as occasional trips to other Group offices.
What we need from you:
  1. A proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of a construction development site.
  2. Experience within the house building industry is essential.
  3. Understanding of the NHBC or /LABC/Premier standards.
  4. Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  5. Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  6. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) are essential.
  7. Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  8. Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management preferred.
