Driver Hire Newcastle & Sunderland is looking to recruit a service technician for one of our clients in South Tyneside on a temp to perm contract for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

1. Carrying out comprehensive safety checks, including testing, maintenance, and calibration of all hire and customer-owned equipment, ensuring all necessary documents are completed, both physically and digitally.
2. Managing workloads, prioritising work efficiently and effectively.
3. Repairing surveying equipment, including construction lasers.
4. Maintaining the workshop and equipment, ensuring sufficient volumes of core hire equipment are always available, and maintaining stock of spare parts for repairs.
5. Providing support to customers and their national teams via telephone and email.
6. Attending internal and external training courses as required.
7. Raising purchase orders, quoting customers based on estimations received, and organising distribution.

Full training on the equipment and systems will be provided both in-house and by manufacturers for official manufacturer certification.

Ideal candidate qualities:

• A high level of IT literacy.
• Experience in the hire and survey industry is beneficial.
• A desire to deliver results and the ability to work under pressure.
• An understanding of electronics and the use of multimeters and other test equipment.
• Drive and motivation to learn, with a strong desire to deliver results and work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and a team player who is good at solving problems.
• A full UK driving licence is preferred.

You will be working Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 16:30.
