Key tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent IT support service delivery to the site, establishing and maintaining high-quality learning facilities and assisting in their future development.
- Take overall responsibility for IT service at the site as Network Manager, including advanced troubleshooting, maintaining service levels, and escalating unresolved issues.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to the client on IT requirements.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to highlight system updates and improvements aligned with site strategies and plans.
- Oversee staff training and up-skilling on-site.
- Prioritize staff workloads, mentor, advise, and train junior staff on best practices and procedures.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) technical information appropriately to different audiences.
- Manage and implement work programs under senior staff guidance.
- Monitor and manage stock, catalog resources, and conduct audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with policies related to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, security, and confidentiality, reporting concerns appropriately.
- Maintain awareness of responsibilities under Data Protection Act and GDPR concerning personal data security and accuracy.
- Set up and verify hardware and software for normal operation.
- Build and configure networked PCs, including standalone setups or via image deployment.
- Perform maintenance on user accounts, site servers, and cloud platforms.
- Possess solid understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Ensure Helpdesk tickets are updated and resolved promptly according to SLAs.
- Follow standard procedures to run network monitoring reports/utilities.
- Update asset records for hardware and software on site.
- Adhere to disaster recovery and maintenance plans, testing backup and malware procedures as instructed.
- Log and investigate all jobs and issues within the helpdesk system.
- Conduct system checks as guided.
- Work with colleagues to maintain health, safety, and welfare standards.
- Communicate technical information effectively to the required audience.
- Act as a communication point with key site staff, account managers, and engineers during projects or incidents.
- Advise leadership on concerns, liaising with account managers and engineers.
- Evaluate support logs to produce management reports and support future service planning.
- Serve as escalation point for helpdesk tickets within the onsite team.
- Prioritize support tasks based on staff availability and service demands.
- Work with Senior Engineers to design and implement network infrastructure to meet client/site needs.
- Manage active network components such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Maintain internet filtering systems in line with policies.
- Manage remote access to internal systems.
- Customize processes for specific clients/sites and review their effectiveness.
- Design and implement procedures for IT equipment receipt, testing, and asset disposal, ensuring WEEE compliance.
- Maintain and review site-wide system contingency plans with the team.
