Job description

The principal responsibilities of this job relate to the three companies within the group and are as follows:

Software – Bespoke

• Write and maintain bespoke software in the Universe pick-based language.
• Recommend improvements to existing software that better meet the company’s current and future business objectives.

Software – Packages

• Undertake the installation, configuration, and upgrade of third-party software packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Maintain written procedures to support this software, as necessary.
• Recommend upgrades and alternatives to existing software packages that better meet the company’s business objectives.
• Answer user enquiries related to their use of bespoke and package software, including enhancement requests, subject to approval by the managing director.

Security: including firewall

• Maintain and configure all Information Technology security, liaising with third parties where appropriate.
• Recommend improvements to existing security arrangements and procedures to further protect the company’s information systems.
• Remove unused programs, files, and dictionary items from the company’s systems.

Hardware: including servers, PCs, printers, etc., local and wide area networks

• Install, configure, and maintain all hardware components, liaising with third parties as applicable.
• Recommend improvements to existing electronic communication services to better meet the company’s business objectives.
• Maintain written procedures related to these systems, as necessary.

Website and DealerNet

• Ensure the correct operation of the company’s websites and web contact points with dealers and the public.
• Monitor website traffic and recommend improvements to increase visitor numbers and enhance marketing effectiveness.
• Improve the website’s search engine prominence.
• Liaise with the Marketing department regarding the company’s web presence.
