What are we Looking For

BlackRainbow is looking for an experienced Platform Engineer who will play a pivotal role in managing the deployment of our software solutions while also offering invaluable guidance and expertise to our clients regarding deployment strategies. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the deployment of our software in various environments, including cloud, on-premises and hybrid setups. Moreover, they will serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, offering insights and recommendations on best practices for deploying our software to meet their unique requirements. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency in infrastructure management, a deep understanding of deployment methodologies, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Design and Optimization: Design, configure, and optimize the underlying infrastructure components necessary for the successful deployment and operation of our software, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Consultation and Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance and recommendations on deployment strategies, best practices, and optimization techniques tailored to their specific needs and infrastructure requirements.

Deployment and Installation: Take ownership and support the deployment and installation process for our software solutions for internal and customer sites, ensuring accurate configuration, integration, and testing to meet their specific requirements and expectations.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers during the deployment phase and post-deployment, addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a seamless user experience.

Essential requirements:

• Eligible to work in the UK
  
• Ability to fulfil requirements for Vetting to Security Clearance (SC) and NPPV3
  
• 2+ years of experience of building and configuring environments in Azure Cloud and on-premises/hybrid platforms
• Excellent knowledge of Windows Server platforms
• Experience of working with multi-tier systems: Databases, App Servers, Web and Mobile Apps
• Experience of working with and maintaining Microsoft AD and security policies
• Excellent knowledge of PowerShell and/or Bash
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure issues and identify the root causes and solutions
• Knowledge of building custom VM images
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• You must be a team player
  
• Ability to work as part of a self-directed team, in which you determine your tasks daily in coordination with your team lead and co-workers, rather than waiting for work to be assigned to you
  
• First-rate level of analytical, planning and organizational ability
  
• Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment
  
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field or equivalent experience

• Cloud installation deployment using ARM, Bicep, Teraform or similar
  
• High Availability configurations
  
• Experience of Zero Trust architecture
  
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or similar
  
• Managing Jenkins automation agents
  
• Managing Elasticsearch clusters
