Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Mentor for a secondary school in Salford, starting ASAP. The role focuses on supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, building relationships, and promoting positive engagement in learning.

You will work with teaching and pastoral teams to provide consistent, nurturing support and help pupils re-engage with education. Prior education experience is essential, with SEN/provision experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within schools or education is essential.
• Experience working with SEN provisions, PRUs, or alternative provision is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Support pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a trusted adult.
• Help pupils re-engage with learning and develop positive attitudes towards education.
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Maintain boundaries and reinforce school expectations.
• Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment.
