Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Mentor to join a welcoming secondary school in Salford, starting ASAP. The role focuses on supporting pupils to manage behaviour and engage with learning.

The ideal candidate will have school experience, a calm and patient approach, and be able to work with pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience working within a school or educational setting.
• Experience working in SEN provisions, PRUs, alternative provision or specialist educational settings is highly desirable.
• Candidates with a background supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Support pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour.
• Build positive relationships and act as a consistent supportive adult.
• Help pupils re-engage with learning and develop positive attitudes towards education.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive school environment.
