Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to help support pupils across Key Stages 1 to 2. The role starts ASAP, offering long-term or short-term placements in varied school settings.

You will work 1:1 with children with SEND, cover lessons, run or support small-group interventions, and help create an inclusive learning environment while collaborating with teachers and SENCOs.

Qualifications

• UK degree in Psychology or core subject.
• Passion for working with children and young people.
• Experience in a school, nursery, placement or voluntary role supporting young people.
• Willingness to obtain/hold DBS Update Service.
• References covering the last 2 years.
• Flexible, adaptable and patient.

Responsibilities

• Support across KS1 - KS2 assisting the class teachers.
• 1:1 support with children with SEND for personalised learning.
• Cover lessons when required.
• Lead or assist with small group interventions.
• Support pupils within mainstream school.
• Encourage positive behaviour and social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and staff to foster inclusive learning.
