Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced HLTA to join a primary school in Oldham. This full-time temporary post offers a rewarding chance to support pupils with additional needs across year groups.

You will deliver planned lessons, run small groups, cover lessons when needed, adapt materials, and collaborate with teachers, therapists and staff to create an inclusive learning environment while upholding safeguarding and health & safety policies.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs.
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
• Safeguarding training and knowledge of child protection.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and interventions under teacher guidance.
• Lead small groups and 1:1 sessions to support learning.
• Cover whole classes during teacher absence.
• Adapt resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour.
• Assist with personal care and emotional regulation as required.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and feedback to teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to foster inclusion.
• Prepare classroom materials and displays.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed.
