Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a primary school setting.

This role would suit an HLTA-qualified candidate, or someone with equivalent level of experience and background who is ready to take on additional responsibility within a school. You will lead small-group interventions, deliver lessons when required, and support pupils with SEND while working with teachers to plan and adapt learning.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience within a school setting.
• Strong experience in UK primary education and curriculum.
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum and learning objectives.
• Proven ability to lead groups and support teaching and learning.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary phase
• Leading small-group interventions and learning activities
• Delivering lessons or covering classes when required
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Working alongside teachers to plan and adapt learning
• Supporting behaviour and positive classroom routines
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
• Providing guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants
• Taking responsibility for specific areas of provision where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and the wider school team
