Job summary

Fairway Infant School in West Sussex is seeking an enthusiastic HLTA to support teaching and provide cover for teacher release time and absences. The role combines classroom support and cover duties in a friendly, caring environment.

You will work in EYFS and Key Stage 1, building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues, and you may need a First Aid qualification or be willing to train. The school offers a welcoming environment with experienced staff and enthusiastic learners.

Qualifications

• Ability to build excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Experience of teaching whole classes in EYFS and Key Stage 1.
• High levels of enthusiasm, flexibility and teamwork.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to be trained.
• HLTA Qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching in class for part of the time and provide cover for teacher release and absences.
• Contribute to a welcoming, happy classroom environment and positive learning.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of learning during cover periods.
