Job summary

Food Technology Teacher vacancy in Dudley, West Midlands. Join a welcoming secondary school’s Design & Technology faculty to teach Food Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition to KS3 and KS4 (GCSE). Open to ECTs and experienced teachers.

Role focuses on practical and theoretical delivery, ensuring safety, differentiation for SEND/EAL pupils, and preparation for GCSE assessments. Strong emphasis on kitchen hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food & Nutrition, Catering, or related field.
• UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.
• Experience teaching secondary Food Technology / Hospitality & Catering.
• Food Hygiene & Safety Certification (Level 2 or above preferred).
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging practical and theoretical Food Technology lessons in line with National Curriculum standards and GCSE exam specifications.
• Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations across all practical cooking spaces.
• Differentiate lessons to ensure all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL needs, can access practical skills and theoretical concepts safely.
• Manage food tech room equipment, ingredient requisitions, and storage facilities in compliance with COSHH and school health and safety policies.
• Track pupil progress using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to maximize GCSE attainment.
