Job summary

JobsTrackR is seeking a Food Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term post in a thriving 11–16 secondary school. You will deliver practical and theory-based lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting healthy eating and food preparation skills while maintaining high safety standards.

Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary setting and QTS or equivalent are essential. The role includes working within a supportive Design & Technology department and a weekly PAYE payroll system.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Promote healthy eating, nutrition, and food preparation skills.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within practical lessons.
• Support students in developing confidence and independence.
• Contribute to the wider Design & Technology department.
