Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a Wolverhampton secondary school's Design & Technology department. The role covers Food Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition for KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), with a start ASAP and potential for an ongoing contract.

Applicants should hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent and have experience teaching Food Technology. A Food Hygiene certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food & Nutrition, Catering, or related field.
• UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS.
• Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Food Technology / Hospitality & Catering.
• Food Hygiene & Safety Certification (Level 2 or above preferred).
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate practical and theoretical Food Technology lessons.
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in cooking rooms.
• Differentiate lessons for SEND/EAL learners.
• Manage food tech room equipment, ingredients, and storage in line with COSHH.
• Track pupil progress and provide feedback to boost GCSE attainment.
