Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Teesside. Roles include full-time, part-time or day-to-day supply with immediate starts and competitive daily pay (£100-£120).

You will supervise classes during short-term absences, deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, keep pupils engaged, and provide feedback to staff. Previous school experience isn't essential, but leading groups of young people is.

Qualifications

• Experience leading groups of young people or delivering structured sessions is essential.
• Experience as a sports coach, activity leader, youth worker, tutor, mentor, teaching assistant, or similar is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing groups of young people.
• Good behaviour management skills.
• A proactive, adaptable and reliable approach.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Two professional references covering the last 2 years

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Keeping pupils engaged and on task
• Providing support and guidance where appropriate
• Creating a positive and productive classroom environment
• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
• Supporting different departments and subject areas across the school
