Job summary

Tradewind Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across welcoming secondary schools in Barnsley and surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year. Flexible day-to-day supply, short-term placements, or long-term assignments are available, offering variety and valuable classroom experience.

You'll deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, keep students engaged, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage learners.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Keep students engaged, focused, and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Adapt to a range of secondary schools and classroom settings.
