Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School seeks a proactive Cover Supervisor to provide classroom supervision in the absence of the regular teacher, using prepared resources to keep students engaged, safe and focused on learning.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, confidence in managing behaviour, and strong communication and organisation skills. You will support learning activities and contribute to admin tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Demonstrates strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Confident in exercising authority and managing behaviour positively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment.
• Register attendance and manage orderly entry and exit from classrooms.
• Communicate lesson instructions clearly and provide appropriate resources to students.
• Manage behaviour in line with school systems and expectations.
• Collect and return student work and complete routine reporting as required.
• Support the administration team and departments during unallocated periods.
• Undertake lunchtime, break-time and exam invigilation duties as required.
• Comply fully with safeguarding, health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
