Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking a Cover Supervisor to maintain continuity of teaching during teacher absence. You will supervise classes, ensure work is accessible, and help create a calm, supportive learning environment across the Trust schools.

You will support students with varying needs, uphold behaviour expectations, and contribute to safe, engaging learning experiences while coordinating with staff and external partners as required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding of how students with SEMH needs learn and how to adapt support.
• Knowledge of health and safety relating to buildings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of learning by supervising classes and communicating work clearly.
• Adapt support to meet differing student needs and re-engage learners.
• Maintain a safe, calm classroom environment with consistent behaviour systems.
• Support students to regulate behaviour and emotions and promote respectful interactions.
• Record and communicate engagement, progress and attendance to colleagues.
