Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking a part-time Cover Supervisor at Maiden Erlegh School to supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a calm and focused learning environment. The role includes registering attendance, following school instructions, and supporting learning activities.

The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and has strong communication and organisational skills, with a professional approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a school or working with young people is desirable.
• Ability to exercise authority and manage behaviour positively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Register attendance and manage classroom entry/exit.
• Communicate lesson instructions clearly and provide resources.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Collect and return student work and complete routine reporting.
• Support the administration team during unallocated periods.
• Undertake lunchtime, break-time and exam invigilation duties.
• Comply with safeguarding, health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
