Job summary

FryerMiles Recruitment is seeking a Storage Engineer to support secure storage and backup platforms in Stevenage. The role requires current DV/SC clearance and will involve Windows, Linux, VMware and NetApp administration within a Defence-grade enterprise environment.

You will manage storage provisioning, perform migrations and upgrades, and maintain runbooks and documentation while ensuring business continuity and data integrity. This is a 6-month contract with possible extension.

Qualifications

• DV/SC clearance, or active clearance with eligibility for DV/SC
• Experience in defence/government or highly secure environments
• Hands-on administration of enterprise storage solutions (NetApp)
• Experience with Windows and Linux servers and VMware environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in large, complex IT environments

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support enterprise storage infrastructure.
• Manage and optimise NetApp storage platforms across secure environments.
• Support enterprise backup and recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Provide support across Windows and Linux servers; support VMware virtualised infrastructure.
• Monitor storage capacity, performance and availability; identify optimisation opportunities.
• Perform storage provisioning, migrations, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Investigate and resolve storage, backup and infra incidents.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform and project teams to deliver secure solutions.
