Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is recruiting a Duty Manager for the Aberavon SPAR store. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will lead a team during shifts and ensure high standards of service and store operations.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with a minimum 40 hours per week at £13.75 per hour plus a bonus and generous benefits package. This is a permanent, full-time role within a respected UK retailer.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisor experience in food retail or similar fast-paced store.
• Committed to delivering exceptional customer service standards.
• Able to plan, organise and prioritise effectively.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to run the store safely and effectively during shifts.
• Deliver store operations, objectives and KPI achievement.
• Coach and develop colleagues to build a motivated team.
• Perform performance and absence management as required.
• Open/close responsibilities, safety, stock and till accountability.
• Carry out cash reconciliations, refunds and other management tasks.
• Lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Engage with the local community to promote the store.
• Adhere to company policies and processes.
