Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is seeking a Duty Manager for the Aberavon SPAR store to lead the team and ensure superb customer service during all operating hours.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will support store operations, drive sales and profitability, and model a positive, engagement-focused leadership style across a busy, community-focused retail environment in the Aberavon area.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisor experience in a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
• Committed to exceptional customer service standards.
• Able to plan, organise and prioritise effectively.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
• Able to take appropriate action and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high performing store, taking overall responsibility during Duty Manager shifts.
• Deliver all store operations, objectives and KPI’s.
• Coach and support colleagues to build a motivated, empowered team.
• Conduct performance and absence management as appropriate.
• Open/close duties, colleague safety and stock/cash security during shifts.
• Carry out cash reconciliations, voids and refunds as needed.
• Lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Engage with the local community to promote the store.
• Adhere to all company policies and processes.
