The Role:
As a Duty Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the centre and ensuring the effective delivery of a first-class customer experience for everyone who visits. Working as part of the Duty Management Team and reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll play a key role in leading operations, supporting staff, and driving high standards across the facility.
To be successful in this role, previous experience within the leisure, health and fitness industry is essential.
We are looking for someone who understands the operational demands of a busy leisure environment and can confidently lead teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
What does the role involve?
A hands-on role that requires you to:
- Use the Horizon HELLO in all customer interactions
- Provide effective leadership and management of the Operations Teams, keeping your team engaged, motivated and informed and operating in line with our values
- Ensure a first-class customer experience is delivered to all visitors
- Be proactive in ensuring the safety and cleanliness and set up of the facilities and equipment; identifying and responding to situations as they arise and escalating issues as required
- Carry out the induction and training of new starters and the development of existing team members
- Conduct a programme of performance management including managing 121's, absence, conduct, performance and continuous development
- With direction from the General Manager implement opportunities for improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Your Qualifications:
- Emergency Response Training – desirable
- First Aid at Work - desirable
- Pool Plant Operator – desirable
Your Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience as a manager or team leader, preferably in a leisure environment

This role will be based at Guildford but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
