Job summary
Horizon Leisure Centres in Havant is seeking a Part Time Lifeguard to join our Operations team. You will assist the Duty Management Team in operating a first-class leisure facility and provide a safe, welcoming environment for all customers.
As a Lifeguard, you will perform lifeguarding duties, enforce safety policies, and support maintenance and customer inquiries. This role rewards commitment, offers training, and the chance to progress within our dynamic leisure trust.
Qualifications
- RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Certificate required or willingness to undertake.
- First Aid qualification desirable.
- CosHH & Health & Safety qualifications desirable.
- Experience in customer services preferred.
- Centre Attendant/Lifeguard experience in wet and dry centres beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Duty Management Team in operating a first-class leisure facility.
- Undertake lifeguarding duties and duties as directed by the Duty Management Team.
- Maintain and monitor facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Ensure customers and staff are treated with respect at all times.
- Set up and take down of sports equipment per schedules.

To assist the Duty Management Team in the operation and presentation of a first-class leisure facility to all Horizon Leisure Centre customers
You’ll be working within our Operations Team and directly reporting to the Duty Manager.
- Use the Horizon HELLO in all customer interactions
- Welcome and assist customers with general enquiries
- Understand and be knowledgeable about our products and services
- Undertake lifeguarding duties and operational duties as directed by the Duty Management Team
- Maintain and monitor all facilities to ensure cleanliness is paramount and always free of hazards
- Responsible for ensuring customers are treated with respect
- Responsible for ensuring staff are treated with respect
- Responsible for the safety of all customers and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
- Set-up and take down of sports equipment according to schedules
- Experience of working in a customer services environment
- Experience as a Centre Attendant/Lifeguard in a wet and dry centre
- First Aid
- Manual Handling
- RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willing to undertake)
- HSE First Aid Qualification desirable
- Certificates in COSHH & Health & Safety desirable
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter
- Excellent team player
- Flexible approach to undertaking assignments given

This role will be based at Havant but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
