Job summary

Leonardo Hotel Manchester is seeking a proactive Duty Manager to oversee day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring memorable guest experiences and acting as an ambassador for the Leonardo brand within the Manchester property.

You will lead a vibrant team, support recruitment, coach new starters, and handle guest issues with poise, working closely with HR on staff activities and wellbeing programmes.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and motivate the team to deliver great hospitality.
• Support other managers with interviews and recruitment—it's a team effort.
• Coach and train new starters to ensure confidence in their roles.
• Manage conflicts or complaints with strong problem-solving skills.

Be Yourself – Be a Bold Team Player – Be LeonardoOnce you’re part of the team, you’re part of the Leonardo community of over 55 hotels across the UK & Ireland!The Duty Manager will direct the strategic initiatives and objectives of the hotel, as well as managing day to day operations through the engagement of the team. All members of the department work together to create memorable moments for guests, in line with both company and hotel-specific service standards, and collaborate closely with other departments within the hotel. You will act as an ambassador for your own hotel and the wider Leonardo Hotels estate, demonstrating the company vision, mission and values. At all times, you will treat others around you with respect, dignity and fairness. As a Duty Manager, you’ll support the senior operational team to keep the hotel running like clockwork and ensure our guests have an incredible experience with us. You’ll supervise the day-to-day hotel operations, ensure every stay is extra special and inspire a vibrant team to exceed our guests’ expectations. We’re looking for someone with versatility, who is great at getting stuck in and thrives on the fast-paced nature of Hospitality! As a Duty Manager, you will: • Get out and about in the hotel, greeting guests and motivating the team to deliver great hospitality • Have strong operational knowledge with the ability to work across departments as required • Support other managers with interviews and recruitment- it’s a team effort • Coach and train new starters- we want everyone to feel confident in their new role! • Have excellent problem-solving skills with the confidence to manage conflicts or complaints seamlessly • Collaborate with your local HR team to host engaging activities for the team • Preferably have experience working in a branded hotel or restaurant?
