Pitch! Middlesbrough is a high-tempo, tech-led sports bar. We need a Duty Bar Manager who has led shifts in a busy venue and can run the floor when the Bar Manager is away, keeping service fast and seamless as match nights draw big crowds.

Not your average sports bar. Not your average shift.

Pitch! Middlesbrough is a high-tempo, tech-led sports bar. That means wall-to-wall live sport, premium drinks, casual dining and a crowd that expects fast, seamless service from kick-off to final whistle. At the heart of it is our own custom-built Pitch! app, which guests use to order, interact with us and get more out of every visit. Our team needs to run at the same pace as the tech.

We’re looking for a Duty Bar Manager who has already led shifts in a high-volume venue and is ready to take on one of the most exciting bars in the North East. You’ll run the floor, drive the team and take full charge of the venue when the Bar Manager is away.

What you’ll be doing

• Commanding the floor at full capacity. You’ll lead front-of-house through peak trade and big-match nights, reading the room and deploying your team so service never drops.
• Bringing the app to life on the floor. You’ll make sure every app order lands fast and accurately, keep floor and digital service in sync, and encourage guests to get the most out of the Pitch! app. When something needs fixing, you’ll step in quickly and keep service moving.
• Delivering a standout guest experience. You’ll create an atmosphere people come back for, and deal with issues quickly and confidently before they escalation.
• Leading a team that performs. You’ll run sharp shift briefings, coach on the floor, develop your people and set the standard by example.
• Owning the controls. You’ll take care of cashing up, till reconciliation, stock security and loss prevention accurately on every shift.
• Keeping it safe and compliant. You’ll be responsible for licensing, food safety and health and safety in a busy, crowded venue.

What you’ll need

• Proven experience running shifts in a high-volume bar, sports bar, late-night or leisure venue. This is essential, and you’ll need to have handled big crowds and peak trade before.
• Confidence with hospitality tech, including EPOS and app-based ordering, and enthusiasm for working with our own in-house platform
• Strong leadership presence, so your team follows your lead when it’s three deep at the bar
• A calm, decisive approach under pressure
• Solid cash handling, reconciliation and financial control experience
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, when the biggest fixtures happen

Bonus points for a Personal Licence, a First Aid qualification, sports bar experience specifically, or a track record of developing people into supervisors.
