Job summary

Sodexo Live! is seeking a Bar Duty Manager for Shearer's Bar at St James' Park in Newcastle. You’ll lead a front-facing bar team, ensure exceptional guest service on matchdays and events, and partner with the management team to deliver memorable experiences.

We are looking for a confident hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys motivating a team to perform at their best. 40hrs weekly, mainly evenings and weekends, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience within a bar, hospitality, leisure or licensed venue environment.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience working in a busy, customer-facing environment.
• Good understanding of licensing regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event days.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of bar staff and glass collectors
• Support the management team in delivering outstanding customer experiences
• Ensure the smooth running of busy matchdays, events and peak trading periods
• Drive sales through effective upselling and product knowledge
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
• Support staff training, development and onboarding
• Manage stock control, deliveries and stock takes
• Complete cash handling and till reconciliation procedures accurately
• Champion health & safety, licensing and food safety standards
• Lead by example to create a positive, engaging and high-performing team culture

We're now looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Bar Duty Manager to join the team at Shearer's Bar, one of Newcastle's most popular hospitality destinations within the iconic St. James' Park.

As Bar Duty Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring guests receive exceptional service every time they visit. We're seeking a confident and energetic hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front.

You'll be someone who loves hospitality, enjoys building great teams and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences.You'll bring energy, positivity and a hands-on approach to every shift, helping us deliver service that's as passionate as the Newcastle supporters we welcome through our doors.

What You Bring:

• Previous supervisory experience within a bar, hospitality, leisure or licensed venue environment

Desirable

• Experience working within stadiums, arenas or other high-volume venues
• Personal Licence Holder
• Experience using POS systems
• Knowledge of stock control and ordering processes
• Event or large-scale hospitality experience
