Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician in Witney to join the Asset Operations & Capital Delivery division. The role involves proactive and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical assets at wastewater sites, with a focus on safety, reliability, and process resilience.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with on-call rota and provided PPE, tools, and van.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in engineering or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
• Qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition wiring regulations
• Experience with electrical and mechanical plant equipment in industrial settings

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and mechanical assets across the Cotswolds sites.
• Investigate plant failures and perform rapid repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Service and replace assets including pumps, control gear, motors, PLCs and VSDs.
• Support local maintenance teams with planned and breakdown maintenance.
• Provide technical advice to the team and train trainees when required.
• Undertake fault diagnostics and resolve issues promptly.
• Interpret and update technical drawings and feedback on work daily.
• Monitor treatment processes using SCADA and respond to alarms.
