Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for the Ring Mains at Merton Wells. You will inspect, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for customers across the UK.

You will work with pumps, motors, control gear and electronic systems, prioritising safety and efficiency while supporting training for technical trainees and contributing to pollution reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical systems and mechanical plant
• Ability to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair equipment
• Knowledge of health and safety issues in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs
• Provide technical advice and training for trainees
• Work with pumps, control gear, motors, starters, VSDs, valves and dosing equipment
• Participate in standby rota after training
