Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify and repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment at Riverside STW in Essex. The role is full-time and based on site, requiring safe, efficient work with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for customers.

The salary is up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with standby rota payments and overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Time-served with electrical systems in a multi-skilled capacity.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, diagnose, test, install, modify or repair plant safely.
• Valid driving licence is essential; vehicle and tools provided.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify and repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance to minimise plant breakdowns.
• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training support as required.
• Participate in standby rota after training.
