Job summary

DHL Supply Chain seeks a Driver's Mate in Ipswich to assist our drivers in delivering goods safely and on time. You will help load, unload, and coordinate deliveries, while keeping the transport team updated on any issues.

The role suits those who are physically fit, can manage workload, and perform basic maths. A full driving licence (Cat B) is desirable, with up to six points acceptable.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit due to manual handling
• Experience with volume orders is preferred
• Strong organisational skills to manage workload
• Basic maths calculations required
• Licence Cat B desirable, max 6 points on licence

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers to load and unload goods at delivery points
• Coordinate picking and loading of items prior to delivery
• Maintain contact with transport team for issue reporting
• Record processes on handheld devices

Pay Rate: £31,778.47 Grade: CA Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (05:00 - 07:00) 4 Compulsory Saturdays, 44hr week Location: Ipswich, IP1 5NX Think you know DHL? We're now looking for a Driver's Mate to play a key role assisting our drivers to deliver goods safely and on time. A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• Accompanying and assisting the HGV driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
• Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device

This Role Would Suit People Who

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple math's calculations
• Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
• Full valid driving licence Cat B (Car Licence) Desirable
• No more than 6 points
